WOW! The First Ever Earth Day Festival was a hit!

Yesterday, SCH and the Cherry Hill Schools (with the support of Cherry Hill Township) hosted the First Ever Earth Day Festival at Carusi Middle School.

The day was warm and sunny with just enough wind to cause a little mischief. Over 1000 people of all ages came from all over South Jersey to celebrate Earth Day with us! The festival was the perfect combination of educational displays, workshops for the adults, live music, kids activities, green vendors and delicious food.

Stay tuned for the official SCH Earth Day video, as well as official acknowledgment of the many helpers, supporters and participants who made the day such a success.

For anyone who doubts that a single person has the power to make a difference in this world, one needs look no further than SCH Board Member and Carusi Middle School teacher, Jodi Raditz. Jodi and her “can do” attitude organized the festival single handedly by securing the location, vendors, music, stage/sound, school groups, food, volunteers and PR in between teaching middle schoolers about sustainability and math, raising her daughter Zoe and directing/choreographing community theater. Jodi is an inspiration to the entire community! Pictured from left to right: Mayor Bernie Platt, Assemblywoman Pam Lampitt, me and Jodi.

Enjoy the photos!
